New Albany Historic Preservation Commission

The New Albany Historic Preservation Commission (NAHPC) is a City-appointed body that administers design review within locally-designated historic districts, as well as providing public education and outreach about preservation. The NAHPC works in cooperation with the City of New Albany and others to preserve the character and fabric of historically significant areas and structures for all present and future citizens.

Within the locally designated historic districts - Mansion Row, Downtown, East Spring Street, Cedar Bough Place and the Long-Graf House - any exterior alterations must be reviewed and approved by the NAHPC through the issuance of a Certificate of Appropriateness.
