Built 1928.  Jacobethan Revival.  The Willis-Luther House.  Albert J. Willis purchased this lot in July of 1927 and had the home built a short time latter.  The structure could be a Sears & Roebuck house, although no documentation has been found to substantiate this.  Mr. Willis is listed as living here in the 1929 New Albany City Directory and gives his occupation as a foreman.  The Willis family only lived in the home a short period of time and sold the property in June of 1931.
Jessie Schechter bought the home and apparently used it as rental property since there were several different occupants of the home listed during a relatively short period of time.

In the 1939 New Albany City Directory, Henry J. Luther is listed as living here for the first time.  Henry and his wife, Martha Jean, apparently rented the house for several years prior to purchasing it in August of 1941.  Mr. Luther was a carpenter with the Earl Embry & Son construction company.  The family remained in the home through the early 1980s.
