Sheriff Sale
|
This brick home was built circa 1855, combining elements of the Federal and Greek Revival styles. It is very similar in design to the Briggs-Cody House at 330 East Third Street, the
Cobb-Danforth House at 504 East Main, and the
Moosmiller House at 820 East Market Street. The front porch is a later addition, likely built sometime around 1920.
The
Croxall House is located in the locally-designated Mansion Row Historic District; therefore, any exterior alterations must be reviewed and approved by the New Albany Historic Preservation Commission. For more information about the
NAHPC and a copy of the Design Guidelines for work in the local historic districts, visit
www.newalbanypreservation.com. Mansion Row is also listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and the owner of the
Croxall House would be eligible to take advantage of tax credits to help recoup qualified rehabilitation costs. For more information, visit
http://www.in.gov/dnr/historic/3679.htm.
The property’s judgment number is 22CO1-1008-MF-1583. With this number you can visit the Clerk’s Office in the City-County building and enter it into their computers to find the judgment owed on the property. This is public record.
